The Tomb of Ligeia ending?

I just got finished watching the movie The Tomb of Ligeia, starring
Vincent Price (whom i love), and the ending kind of threw me off. I
don't understand if Ligeia was dead or alive, why her body was made of
wax in the tomb, if the cat was Ligeia... and I thought Verdon killed
Rowena?

If you seen the movie or read the book (is it even a book? I know it's
edgar allan poe, so that's what i'm guessing) please feel free to
